A rich, discussion-driven lesson tracing Pride from the 1969 Stonewall protests to Canada's own "We Demand" protest in 1971, right through to the Civil Marriage Act. Students build vocabulary (protest, discrimination, activist, equality), read a detailed history text and match paragraphs to main ideas, watch a real Pride parade video with comprehension and True/False checks, and wrap up with a personal opinion writing task on whether Pride should be more celebration or activism.
