The true story of one of Canada’s best-loved heroes, told in simple language for low-level classes. A young man loses his leg to cancer at 18 and decides to run across Canada to raise money for research. Students read his story and choose the best title, match key numbers (18, 42, 8,000, 5,300, $24 million, $850 million) to what they mean and answer comprehension questions. They watch a short video to find more answers, decide what is true or not in the text and complete sentences. Speaking prompts finish the lesson: how did Terry feel every morning, why did he not stop and is he a hero? Answer key included.
